MTS collaborates with ZirMed University to create E-Learning Course Medical providers are continuously seeking ways to successfully train staff, and at the same time manage costs and time. E-Learning offers individualized, interactive instruction which meets the goals of the customer and enhances patient care. MTS was called on by ZirMed University, a leader in the creation of E-Learning systems, to provide the instructional design criteria for the new Accu-Flo. E-Learning course, “Accu-Flo Basics”. The “Accu-Flo Basics” course was deployed in early September and will be followed by an advanced features course later this year. The on-line course will provide basic training for each user of the Accu-Flo system prior to the arrival of Creative Strategies trainers at each new facility. The E-Learning course will make the onboarding of new employees a more manageable task for the facility’s Director of Nursing and will also survey the end users to determine what additional training might be needed in the future. Georgia Physicians Succeed with Support from MTS MTS has successfully completed its latest project with excellent results. Over three hundred busy physicians at the Athens Regional Medical Center (ARMC) can now electronically research and sign medical records at the ARMC. Previously, physicians were required to sign paper charts in the medical records area, or other designated areas of the hospital, sometimes requiring a special trip to the ARMC for the sole purpose of signing a chart. Now physicians can sign documents expeditiously at the ARMC, using the ChartMaxx document management system anywhere there is internet access. ChartMaxx also helps the medical records staff work more efficiently because no longer must the paper record be stored until all signatures are completed in the chart. The medical records department at ARMC can immediately archive the medical records off site, freeing up valuable space for other uses in the hospital. During a five week period in Athens, MTS provided the following services with negligible disruptions in the daily operations of the hospital: · Created custom quick reference materials · Trained over 150 nurses · Trained over 300 physicians both on site at ARMC; and off site in clinics and physician offices · Contacted and Scheduled over 150 physicians for training
Athens Regional Medical Center, Inc (ARMC) selects ChartMaxx and Management Training Solutions (MTS) ARMC, located in Athens, Georgia, is currently implementing a document management system called ChartMaxx, to provide post discharge electronic access to the entire medical record. The Chartmaxx product benefits clinicians and patients by providing a unified health record that is well organized, professionally displayed and user friendly; resulting in efficiency gains throughout the ARMC and improved patient care and safety. In order to gain optimum system usage by its medical staff, ARMC entrusted the physician training to MTS. Over a 5 week period in April and May, MTS will create custom user documentation and train over 300 physicians on critical functions in the Chartmaxx product.
Management Training Solutions presents “Expecting the Unexpected. Do you have the resources you need to succeed?” at the 2008 Georgia Access Management Association (GAMA) Fall Festival GAMA is the Georgia state chapter of professionals dedicated to promoting excellence in the management of patient access services in all areas of healthcare delivery system. During the first day joint session of attendees, Management Training Solutions, Inc. (MTS) presented its project role and the results of the Horizon Enterprise Visibility (HEV) implementation at Northeast Georgia Hospital System in Gainesville, GA. In the presentation MTS stressed the need for hospitals to preplan training activities to include early intervention of training staff in the planning process and having the additional resources needed to avoid operational disruptions during startup and post startup. Other points of emphasis were the need to clearly communicate with project staff, and having experienced, flexible and resilient training professionals in place to address the expected, and unexpected events that occur during implementations. The MTS appearance was preceded by a presentation from Northeast Georgia Hospital System administrators discussing the hospital’s implementation approach and the project successes. Both presentations were well received by the GAMA attendees.

Northeast Georgia Hospital System uses MTS to successfully implement McKesson Horizon Enterprise Visibility System
McKesson’s Horizon Enterprise Visibility™ (HEV) System is the industry’s first enterprise patient care visibility system, a new category of health IT that uses visual controls to deliver real-time, at-a-glance information that puts everyone involved in the care process on the same page. Northeast Georgia Hospital System (NGHS), the #1 Cardiac Care Center in the State of Georgia, opted to utilize HEV to improve bed access and patient care in the hospital. As a result of previously developed business relationships and implementation successes, NGHS chose MTS to provide the assistance needed to implement the large scale system deployment. MTS provided 12 consultants that trained and supported the HEV implementation during startup in June, 2008. MTS also conducted classroom training sessions prior to startup, customized to match the user role associated with the system. Karen Eber, HEV System Administrator said the system has revolutionized how employees keep track of rooms. "We went from about 90 percent manual (tracking) to 100 percent automated overnight," she said. Jim Gardner, chief executive officer of Northeast Georgia Health System, said there’s been a huge increase in efficiency since the program debuted.
